“Crazy Dragon, and many hidden Tigresses”
What a crazy year of the Dragon it was for Singapore!
Two by-elections and plenty of high profile court cases.
Sky-high prices for COEs and housing – and plenty of ‘cooling measures’ for property.
That said, what is happening in the world beyond Singapore?
Economic doom and gloom, severe unemployment in the U.S. and Europe, political turmoils everywhere else.
.
Compared to that, what we are experiencing in Singapore is really strange.
Perhaps we need a clear vision of our destiny and our future beyond the immediate.
So that whatever is planned today prepares well for the future for our children and their children.
That is what it is all about, isn’t it?

That is what it is all about, isn’t it?
What will Singapore be like in a decade or two?
Will we abandon the Singapore love-affair for cars? Our dreams for the dream-home?
What will our children be passionate about, what should they work for?

Perhaps we will enlarge the common space of community, enhance the common highways of transportation, embrace the aged, the poor and the needy, and embark on innovative strategies for the future.
Where will new jobs come from? If not from MNCs and GLCs? How about affordable healthcare for the aged and needy?
Looks like a challenging time for policy makers.
Let’s cheer for a healthy and prosperous Year of the Snake, ….. 🙂 health is by far the most important.
