The catalyst for this event is a member, Mr Francis Wong. He planted seed money of $50,000 and we multiplied this 4 times to reach $200,000 for the Japanese Disaster victims. We saw a turnout of $60 cyclists and 25 walkers on a bright and sunny Saturday morning.
Chairman, Choon Seng did the honor of flagging off the cyclist at 8am followed by the walkers a short while after. We were privileged to have the presence of the CEO of Singapore Red Cross, Mr Christopher Chua joined us. It was heartening to see friends, fellow HP Alumnis coming together with their family members to lend support towards a good cause.
The route was a good 13km for the cyclists which took them pass the Japanese school, round the scenic Pandan reservoir and it was then to MacDonald for a hearty breakfast before the last leg back to the West Coast carpark.
A big thank you to one and all!
